Two Year Course (Master's)
Introduction
The two year full time Master's programme in Theology is an exciting opportunity to be immersed in the study of theology and apologetics in the stimulating environment of Oxford. Students are awarded a University of Oxford Master’s degree upon successful completion of the course.
This is an exciting and challenging programme with academic rigour at its core, supplemented by practical application.
Michael Ramsden, Director of RZIM Europe
The course is designed to progress existing theological knowledge in a way that informs future ministry and allows students to think critically about mission and apologetics in the contemporary world. The combination of theological training and practical missional opportunities is a unique feature of this Master's programme.
The Course

The pattern of the two year Master's programme will be a combination of teaching and research. The core teaching is delivered by University of Oxford Faculty of Theology staff, supplemented by lecturers such as Alister McGrath, John Lennox, Michael Ramsden, Amy Orr-Ewing, Ravi Zacharias and Os Guinness.
To meet the research component, students are required to submit four research essays of 7,000 words in the first year and a dissertation of 20,000 words in the second year. The choice of topic area is wide ranging, giving students the flexibility to write on areas of specific interest.
The Master's programme allows students to enjoy the full scope of the worship, social, and missional life of the OCCA community, while also engaging in high-level study and research in apologetics.
Vince Vitale, Senior Tutor

The programme takes a holistic approach to development where, alongside academic study, students are given the chance to develop their preaching skills and to join members of staff on missions. Students will also support a local church or para-church organisation by a weekly evangelistic placement.
Master's students are fully integrated with the wider OCCA community, joining weekly worship and the ‘huddle’ discipleship scheme, an innovative small group structure that fosters transformation, spiritual formation and discipleship to Jesus Christ. All OCCA students are also part of the devotional community of Wycliffe Hall.
