Charlie took up the post of Executive Director of OCCA in 2022 after thirteen years serving in church-based ministry.  He studied Theology at Durham University and trained for ministry at Oak Hill Theological College. 

Charlie has held various leadership roles in both charitable and public sector organisations, including serving as chair of a multi-academy trust during a time of significant political and organisational change.

Charlie Styles is the Executive Director of OCCA, The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. Charlie’s role is to lead the team to develop an organisational culture of support and accountability as they support the church in confident, connected evangelism.

OCCA provides evangelists-apologists for workplaces, educational contexts, and local churches. This includes a specific strategy to reach young people under the banner of Reboot Questions. In addition, OCCA provides a training pathway for evangelists and seeks to provide online resources of the highest quality.

Charlie is also an ordained Anglican minister, having studied Theology at Durham University and trained for ministry at Oak Hill Theological College. He has served parishes in Slough, South Buckinghamshire and most recently as Rector of Lutterworth in Leicestershire.

Charlie has held various leadership roles in both charitable and public sector organisations, including serving as chair of a multi-academy trust during a time of significant political and organisational change. 

Charlie is married to Sophie, and they have three children and one dog.  Whilst leading the team at OCCA Charlie also serves as Minister for Evangelism in their local church.
